Adobe Unveils Mobile Photoshop App

Remember a few weeks ago when Mark dreamed up Photoshop Mobile as one of 10 iPhone apps he’d like to see? Turns out it was already in the works. Adobe released the app today in conjunction with Photoshop.com, an online corrolary to its best-selling photo editor, Photoshop Elements. Although you can’t use the app to edit photos, you can use it to upload camera phone pictures to the Web and then edit them on Photoshop.com or download them to a desktop editor.

Even if you haven’t purchased an account on Adobe’s new Photoshop.com site, you can still set up a free account with Photoshop.com Basic (essentially, Photoshop Express, rebranded), which includes a generous 5GB free storage. The mobile app will be available for free, starting in late September.

As it turns out, though, Mark’s prediction was only partly true: the app isn’t yet available for the iPhone. Right now, it only works with six Windows Mobile phones: the Samsung BlackJack I and II, Motorola Moto Q9h, Motorola Moto Q music 9m, Palm Treo 700w/wx, and the Palm Treo 750.
